You've looked forward to your wedding day for most of your life (if you're female, that is!). Now that you're finally planning it, you're getting ready to move from the 'imagination' stage to the 'memory' stage ... and while your memories will initially be bright, beautiful and filled with love, they'll eventually start to be overtaken by many others! Choose the right wedding videographer for your special day, and you'll be able to bring your special day back to life in all its glory, any time that you need to.

If you're looking for a wedding videographer, you'll want:

1. The latest equipment
   Technology constantly storms ahead, and while the camera can only do what the operator tells it to, conversely, a wedding videographer is only as good as his tools are. Technology is constantly being updated - look for a wedding videographer that has recently updated their equipment.
2. In-house filming
   There's nothing worse than interviewing a fantastic, friendly and skilled wedding videographer ... only to find that they actually send freelancers on the day. Make sure you are speaking to the wedding videographer that will be behind your camera.
3. To see both finished and unfinished videos
   Most wedding videographers will have a gallery of snippets you can look at on their website. However, you can also get a fabulous idea of their editing skills and the quality of a wedding videographer's equipment by asking to see a section of unedited video.
4. Full day filming
   Gone are the days when a wedding video was not much more than the vows and the walk down the church steps! Now, all good wedding videographers will give you the option of having highlights from your entire day filmed, including bride's preparation/groom's preparation, the ceremony, the reception and the car driving away to the honeymoon suite. Beyond that, you probably won't want cameras anyway!
5. Animation and special effects
   A little animation and some sound or visual effects can capture the magic that's in your mind - and with a skilled wedding videographer, they won't be cartoonish.
6. Contracts
   If you want to be confident that the wedding videographer will deliver exactly what you've discussed, look for those that provide contracts or written agreements- they'll protect BOTH of you.
